It seems like it takes a lot to make a piece of art that’s a true translation of your thoughts and vision (my painting of Paul Attreides not withstanding). Nickel Boys feels like it was beamed in straight from someone’s psyche.

Every group of 3 men needs a Richard Hammond from Top Gear and luckily for this film, Imran is Hammond to a T.
Love the idea that Imran is only able to initially communicate his fear about pursuing his father to someone who isn’t able to understand him - being able to feel comfort in verbalizing those doubts to another person but still needing that space behind the wall of the language barrier to articulate it.
