This movie asks the important question: what if two women were so incredibly hot that it became an international legal issue. Songs were classic, antics were so much fun, costumes and aesthetics were gorgeous, and I am now absolutely a Marilyn Monroe shooter she's funny!!! The girls get it in this one.

I was more hopeful for this movie but I really didn't feel the heart in it. Feels like we lost the artistry of the movie musical in here and it became a big blockbuster wizard oz legacy prequel where people happened to sing. cynthia erivo is an incredible talent and carries the best parts of the movie along with the production design. idk if it's my bias against ariana grande or the really deep theater kid energy of this but it didn't really do it for me. legit pissed about the washed out backlighting of most of dancing through life
