    NONAGON INFINITY OPENS THE DOOR

Nice predestination/recursion/time-travel paradox. It works. I liked a review on here that complains that the film’s biggest weakness is not having enough faith in the audience to preclude itself from making the loop obvious, and I think that stands. It’s still interesting to watch play out, but the pattern is recognizable and the conclusion is predictable about 30min in. It’s apparent enough that it makes it a little silly that the protagonist lives their whole…

This would probably go so hard if you were a 14yo girl.

Uhh… kinda campy, but not even that. Just weak and uninteresting. Stiff performance from Seyfried. Whatever plot, stitched together like a Disney Channel movie. Not much expected, not much to say. Maybe would make okay background noise?

It’s a semi-shlocky action-romance, and you know what? It delivers just fine.

It doesn’t push the envelope too far in terms of creativity, but it also wasn’t totally formulaic. Maybe “high art” demands leaving more up to ambiguity and mystery, but I kinda appreciated having everything shown to me, even if it was just “bioweapon gone wrong” and “evil capitalists”. At least it was written out and delivered rather than the all-too-common trope of interesting scripts writing themselves into a…
