There is a GREAT movie here aching to get out, and you can see the glimpses of it every time it focuses on the family who bring all the humour, charm, and feels of the movie.
Unfortunately, CODA decides that the main draw is the coming-of-age drama of a "Pick-me-girl" and her future in music, and burgeoning romance with some vanilla kid that becomes steadily more irritating as the movie progresses. That I am still giving this a 7 speaks…

THE PROS: This is definitely one of those movies that lives or dies by the audience you watch it with which brings even more energy to the film. In this case, the audience helped elevate what is a fairly breezy and light blockbuster.
