Dune 1984
around halfway through it becomes increasingly obvious the studio cut this to ribbons. i have to assume that a slightly later career lynch would have been able to make a slightly more "finished" version of this. that being said... some real big FUN swings as far as design and characterization, loved jack nance as a harkonnen meanie and my darling Big Ed as stilgar. this dune feels slightly more interested in the Mystic than villenueve's — but of course it does! it's lynch!
