I wanted to love this movie, and the cast certainly shines. However the movie can’t seem to decide if it wants to be an action movie or a rom-com, and doesn’t always balance both well

The Fall Guy 2024
This film is a wonderful love letter to the stuntman profession. The story is basic but hits standard beats. The director’s experience as a former stuntman shines through in the action sequences, which really do the job of bringing life into the movie. The film is yet another movie about making movies, but as far as date movies go it has something for the romantics as well as the action lovers.

Asteroid City 2023
This film is what you get when no one tells Wes Anderson “no.” It’s very pretty to look at, and with an all-star cast there are moments that through the hard work of the actors show the potential of the story. The modeling work is incredible and the attention to color and detail is meticulous. That being said, it doesn’t let any of its storylines breathe and has a wholly unsatisfying ending.
