This is a tough one to review. I'm going to get the negative out of the way first, because ultimately, I liked this movie.

I liked the premise and there were a few laughs here and there, but ultimately the movie was a disappointment. The dialogue, while funny on paper, for some reason just failed to land for me. (no pun intended.) Ultimately it was a movie that tried to be too many things, veering from cynical to snarky to sincere at too fast of pace to really work.
A dull, predictable, and trite film that wastes the performance of an incredibly talented cast. It's a screenplay that's been floating around Hollywood since the 90s and it feels like nobody bothered to update it since then. The 1990 plot served nothing to the plot of the movie and was a complete distraction. The film relies so much on cliched tropes and plot devices, I stepped out several times without pausing and came back without missing a beat. If you watched any 90s crime thriller, you've seen this movie. By the time they said the title, I was purely hate watching it.
