  I only knew three things about The Straight Story before I watched it:
  1. It's about an old man driving on a lawnmower to visit his brother.
  2. It's, together with Dune, one of the least Lynchian movies David Lynch did.
  3. It feels like a John Deere commercial.

  Kiss Me Kosher! 2020

  Adorable, multilingual culture clash romcom about a German and a Israeli falling in love. It talks about the Holocaust, the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and Germany's Nazi past with enough seriousness, but still finds the humor in the prejudices between Germans and Isrealis. I would have never imagined to laugh about a situational comedy scene in which the german mother starts to cry at a Shoah museum and how suprised and overwhelmed the isreali mother is by her reaction. It's amazing.

  A comedy about German guilt and Israeli grief shouldn't work and somehow it does. And the best thing: It's gay AF and nobody cares. 🏳️‍🌈
