  I want to play

  deeply unsettling. it’s like the feeling of when you’re a child and you were half asleep while someone was watching a too loud movie downstairs, and the muffled sounds started melding into your dreams or nightmares. in this case, nightmare.

  it’s very visually and aurally sparse, but the sound design and editing are gripping. pretty much everything happens off screen, which many horrors have attempted before but this one handles the restraint perfectly. looming dread around…

  it’s been a fair few months since i last saw this and it still hits just the same. incredible set and sound design. there really is nothing else operating on this level in recent memory.
