I like the concept but not the execution. Fargeat is swinging for the fences but almost nothing sticks. Ladies They Talk About 1933
A nice curiosity. The plot is nonsensical and there’s a scene that basically plays over twice in the beginning. But we do get to see a baby Stanwyck swagger across the screen. My personal favorite moment is an incredibly charming and almost insane serenade by Lillian Roth to a photo of Joe E. Brown. It’s almost vaudevillian the degree to which this presumably cheapskate setup works thanks to Roth’s charisma.
