An all timer.
Such a fun, confident and perfectly timed film. Its cosy and caustic characters are paired so well together, injecting something new into the genre flick, as well allows for some very funny moments.
Can’t help but fall in love with McDermott, but the whole film is perfectly cast.
Roger Deakin is a beast and anything he touches looks amazing. Such a GOAT.
Started watching this a few weeks back but probs won’t n’t finish this film. Feel it lacks some sort of chemistry making it fairly rote.
It has lots of nice shots, and lit particularly well, but lots of the angles and framing is pretty normal making it feel like a slight elevated version of a Netflix standard movie.
Nic Hoult is fine but imagining Jake gyllenhaal or something - someone you’d believe as a leader - helps me to see…

I loved the gear shift 30 or so minutes, in after the first death. A tense start, slowed with a procedural sequence.
I like that there is so much empathy for the villain. The curse from his mother to blame. Or is this a millennial’s read?
