Very wild movie in some ways, very uninteresting movie in many others!
I liked a lot of the trippy animation, especially considering how much of it wasn't digital effects (and, the early digital stuff they do actually looks pretty cool) but, the characters are all so ugly! They all look like fucked up Goofy Movie people.

Some really beautiful shots, and this might be my favorite Tangerine Dream score yet. Mann makes a point to show all the details, the step-by-step of how frank breaks into safes. It does make you wanna get some power tools out and start drilling...
The mob boss dude reminded me of my grandfather, and the weird guys he would hang out with.
I feel like, in the end, Frank did not need to blow up his house and car dealership and like, scorch the earth. But, you know, I respect it!

I'm sure the pitch for 'Becky' was "Green Room" meets "Home Alone," a mashup that could easily go sideways and suck...But! I think they really commit to the violence with this movie, and walk the line between the absurd and the grounded really well.
