gut-wrenching film, i'm not sure how anyone can see the sheer depravity and brutality of the IOF razing down palestinian houses with such glee, pride, and arrogance, and *not* call for the utter destruction of zionism. i'm in two minds about the frustrating narrative of a 'sympathizing israeli' coming into to shed light on these atrocities and dwelling in his experience for any part of this, equally disappointing that this film might not have been distributed as widely had it not been for an israeli co-director.
was really nice to watch this with comrades & reflect upon our current times, was reminded of Heather Heyer & her tragic murder by fascists. pacing of the film was a bit odd & janky but appreciated the perspectives from organizers on the ground & was thinking about all the things we need to equip ourselves with in the coming years
a really well-paced, character-driven, sincere story with some classic (but less crude) roman roy-esque bangers from culkin. the last scene of benji waiting at the airport was so good. cousin movies are so important :')
WOW. it was crazy watching this anachronistically (x2) and seeing the kooky steampunk imagery - i was obsessed. this movie was a fantastic androgynous gay/lesbian/trans tender dream with such a philosophical overtone of love and dramaaaa. so sweet but tragic seeing this alone on valentine's day lol
