    Couldn't really tell you a single thing that happened in this. Such a drag to watch until the last act where there back in the hotel. I think the movie struggles to balance being a physiological thriller or a supernatural straightforward movie, and this isn't helped by its slow pacing. The villains are pretty boring and not scary at all, especially when compared to Jack Nicholsons character in the original.

    Bold, brave and anachronistic. Polarising, but in a good way. Sofia Coppola's signature direction shines through with this one, with her lush cinematography and set design which transports the audience to Antoinette's world. Kirsten Dunst's captivating perforce, as does the rest of the cast.

    What a disappointment.

    The only thing holding this movie up is the performance from Michael Gandolfini and Alessandro Nivola who both hold solid performances. Especially Nivola who definitely understands his self-loathing yet cunning character. Oh and the aesthetic of the film. I am a sucker that sort of vibe, what can I say. Characters were flat and lacked any character development, but the actors made ups for it with there performances.
