Doctor Who: The Highlanders 1967
Dr Who 31.
The Doctor is at his most gremlin-like. He lies and bluffs and blunt-force-traumas his way through the English army. Meanwhile Polly takes an awful lot of joy blackmailing a lieutenant into helping her free her friends. And then they pick up Jamie, a new Scottish companion who loves killing the English. Fuck English colonialism, all my friends hate colonialism. A fun little story :)Translated from by -
Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks 1966
Dr Who 30.
The Daleks suffer from diminishing returns, and The Power of the Daleks is where I start to feel it. It’s certainly not bad, but I don’t have any strong feelings about the plot one way or another. On the other hand, Patrick Troughton as the Doctor is a delight! He’s an annoying little man who bumbles his way through scenes, and who you only realise was actually paying attention when he suddenly takes the upper hand. Except for the times he genuinely wasn’t paying attention because he only cares about playing his silly little musical instrument <3Translated from by
