Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb 1964
Fell asleep for ten minutes due to it being late x penjamin had hands. So I went back and rewatched the portion I missed. Kubrick holds up as one of the goats for sure, this satire of the Cold War has aged like fine wine, and feels even more relevant today considering ongoing events. Considering there’s only two sets for the entire movie, i would usually get bored or feels it’s stagnant, but changing camera angles and plot developments had me hooked the whole time. Pranav redeemed himself with this one after we watched hero because of him.

Nosferatu 2024
Eggers was really in his bag with this one. The tension he builds with the camera work and music was actually chilling at times. And the sound design of the count and his breathing and accent was genuinely really creepy which says a lot because they usually make this style of vampire kind of goofy. Cast held it down (other than some side characters but it’s fine). Puritan wives having desires is the birth of these kinds of stories, so they inherently aren’t always going to be the most interesting in my opinion, but for what it was I enjoyed it and was creeped out.

Picnic Under A Gibbet 2021
Watched this at jesterpalooza at cine which was a concert and then three jester themed short films and everyone dressed up all formal! Love cine this was super cute. Jepperz was goated in her cameo. This film was the highest production, insanely cool camera work and costume design with a witty and impressive dialogue. All of the short films were great this is the only one currently on lbox. Shouts out cine once again.
