  This movie feels like an endless well of discovery. Every rewatch reveals more detail and texture. I especially loved Daryl Hannah’s and Rutger Hauer’s performances this time around. They are both so open to experiment in their characters, and I think they carry this film to its full form for the third act.   As I usually feel with Eggers, I hate to say, A for effort. Everything is perfect, but it’s perfectly boring. Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s campy posh performance was my favorite part. Performances were great all around, but damn, the repetition, the jump scares, and the edge-lord sexual shockers fell very flat for me.   The only way I can find enjoyment out of being in Las Vegas is to watch this while I’m there

  Every aspect of this production is god tier but Sharon Stone and Thelma Schoonmaker really bring it home for me. It’s a masterclass in the artistry of the edit.
