Wolf Man 2025
Whannell's kinetic pacing and suspenseful direction don't quite make up for what feels like a first draft screenplay.
The central premise could be an interesting spin on werewolf lore, but the execution isn't nearly scary enough for it to work as a memorable horror, while the characters aren't compelling enough for it to work as a drama. The themes of generational trauma and toxic masculinity are stated and restated plainly but without the emotional payoff to really connect.
Not angry, just disappointed. Top tier soundtrack though.
