Yikes. If Django was the old dog that still looks good, and can still learn some new tricks then Hateful 8 was the child putting up signs for their missing dog. For all of our sake, hopefully the dog comes back and can still make everyone happy but more likely than not Quentin Tarantino’s best work is behind him and may never come back.

The Revenant 2015
To be fair, it’s been a while since I’ve seen The Revanent. However, I remember actively wishing I could leave the theater and that the movie would end. Sure the cinematography was fantastic, and the concept was bold, but it was still boring. I’d love to try it again and talk to anyone that disagrees with me about it, but everyone should take a step back and try to see it for what it really is: that really pretty girl that has an awful personality.

Get Out 2017
This movie deserves amazing praise, as well as Director Jordan Peele for crafting a true masterpiece. Get Out not only had excellent performances throughout, but Peele crafted a society that he sees as a reflection of the present cultural climate and does so while maintaining some obvious satirical elements for comedic relief while the real horror comes from the subleties that can come true outside the screen. Jordan Peele made his movie the way he wanted to make it, and most importantly shared his message through his own fantastic story.

Baby Driver 2017
This was an astonishingly well made movie. The attention to detail that Wright gave is second to none, but due to the absurd amount of highly critically acclaimed movies in 2017 it’s unlikely it will get any of the big Oscar awards. Baby Driver understood that it is an action-packed, highly entertaining movie, and added to it high level filmmaking. This movie wasn’t perfect, but was without a doubt a needle in the haystack of recent blockbuster movies.
