the story in its essence felt so much like contemporary japanese short fiction. the supernatural as a part of the everyday, non-linearity, urban alienation, lots of train cars. andrew haigh transporting that essence to london and andrew scott, paul mescal, claire foy and that soundtrack injecting it with so much heart and tenderness made this a magical cinema experience. queer hearts were broken and healed ❤️🩹
