  the mid-oral-sex fetus’ escape from womb and subsequent return was especially odd. very weird movie, meshing of complex politics of the mexican art-elite and generational, class divisions did not always mix well with the intense surrealism but my bf likes it so i tolerate. early iñarritu better. imo impossible to make good films for decades, how did we get from amores perros to this. unmoored and overly self referential

  i have never wished death and suffering on a protagonist more. ik it’s a critique of american tourists’ brutishness when abroad but wow what a frustrating movie. just watched a Nice Guy abuse women with zero repercussions for an hour and a half.
