  It’s a real shame that Matt and I never covered a Babs movie on the podcast. This one in particular would’ve been so much fun to talk about. I was full-on giddy after Don’t Rain on My Parade and I laughed out loud at several moments. By myself! Who knew Funny Girl was actually funny?

  Is there anything more divine than a cat’s affection?

  I love a show-don’t-tell and this movie is ALL show and NO tell. It’s so cool to me that the filmmakers were able to clearly communicate feelings and ideas through glances, circumstances, camera moves, and sometimes music. I say sometimes because they smartly didn’t rely on music to tell us what to feel. In fact, I think the music added to the ambiguity, which was brilliant.
