The Brutalist 2024
Something very special about this film. It has a grandness that you rarely see these days yet the deconstruction of the American dream is so nuanced and brutal. The score and cinematography work so well together, Brody is excellent and the opening sequence is one of the best I've seen in years.

A thrilling blockbuster sci-fi exprerience. Unbelievable scale, incredible visuals and not a single performance I wouldn't label as great. Chalamet rises to the occasion and his portrayl of Paul's ascent to leader and prophet is powerful and dark. The ambiguity throughout about whether it is prophecy or Bene Gesserit scheming that is driving Paul's journey was a particularly interesting concept.
My only complaint comes from the density of the film, which sometimes forces what should be important moments to feel slightly rushed.
