The original 'existential dread' motion picture, that spawned a ton of copycats to this dat and perfectly predicted technology of the future and humans reliance on them.
Hal 9000 is one of the most terrifying villains and greatest voice actor performances of all time.
It is very much an embodiment of the word epic and while the long takes might be a turnoff for many (including my younger self watching it for the first ti.e), in this scenario it perfectly captures the vastness, emptiness and pin drop silence of space travel as well as the gradual pace of evolution. Every rewatch brings a new meaning.
