18th century European goes on side quests to try and compensate for the fact that he's a bit boring really.
Masterpiece from start to finish, showcasing how humanity lends itself inherently to monotony. Leading to hideous self interest.
I love how it shows the 18th century as a time trying to fashion a sense of society, order and class. However, this was no more than a thin veil covering the blood lust, greed and misogyny of the middle ages. Make up, silks and insurance could not change man from being a war-mongering, hording powerhouse for self preservation and advancement.
