Bleak. Proper dystopian future and very obviously a clear template for Gladiator. The befuddled, drug addled upper class accept their lot and the masses remain supine through the games. Jimmy Caan is tremendous as the reluctant hero of the masses fighting against the corporate overlords, but still actively engaged in the violence. Did I mention that’s it’s bleak?

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy 2025
Thank god for Hugh Grant. A bizarre film - at turns staggeringly unfunny and unforgivably dull. The erstwhile love interest ranges from creepy (Leo Woodall) to the weird whistle touting (only) teacher at her children’s posh school (Chewitel Ejiofor). We know the school is posh because the children all get stereotypical posho names. A rom-com that is supposedly about grieving (Firth is killed off camera in an overly worthy good guy death in Sudan), it certainly made me sad. Zellweger…
