i do NOT get the reviews on this movie. I went into it completely blind (i didn't read the description) and i thought the plot was super interesting and well done. i love the way they portray his perspective during the surgery and i think overall the directing of this movie is really good. his mum was also written really well and the end of the movie is so sad :( .Its not perfect but it was really engaging and well done (+ Hayden Christiansen bias).

I went into this movie having heard a lot about how weird it is but wow nothing could’ve prepared me. i do feel like disturbing sexual scenes is almost a given in psychological thrillers like this though as they add to the overall sense of unease in a way that i found uncomfortable but effective. Theres also purpose behind them within the narrative but tbh some of them probably could’ve been toned down (ahem vampire scene).

i really did enjoy watching this movie. it was genuinely funny and although the story was kind of generic and cheesy it gave the same kind of vibe as 2000s chick flics / rom coms. it was so satisfying when Bea and Ben got together (it didn’t feel forced but their immediate break up kinda did) but i honestly spent most of the movie mad at them for ruining the wedding and being so petty and mad at each other…
