    The screams that came out of my mouth. And I’m not easily shocked. Channeling Kubrick, but also Carpenter, Verhoeven, Cronenberg. Even a Little bit of Basketcase Belial. Flipping wild ride. Feminist melodrama packed with 8000 gallons of gore.

    SLUTS! SLUTS! ALL OF YOU, SLUTS! 

    Funny and raucous movie about race. Must have been shocking for 1970, but a financial success for Paramount. They offered Van Peebles a three film deal that he declined to make the indie powerhouse Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song. (Poor Mario.)  Watermelon Man is a must see for American Renaissance fans. I was thinking while watching it “I bet Goddard loved this.”
