  Eighties excellence? Perhaps graded on a curve, but idgaf. One of the first *good* biopics willing to explore the flaws of its female subject, rather than martyr and praise them. Fossey's idealistic beginning and descent into terrorism bookend her impassioned conservation efforts. Sigourney elevates the script into something praise-worthy and the eighties synth-score is an iconic coupling to the sharp cinematography and editing.

  I used to think I was against censorship, but then I watched 'To Leslie' and realized we desperately need a federal ban on misery porn in media. There is nothing moving, inspiring, or remotely impressive about this 90-minute slog about an alcoholic continuing to drink. The lead character is so thinly written that the only thing to compliment the hideous lighting, grating editing, or horrendous color-grading is Andrea Riseborough (who otherwise has brilliant performances under her belt) grunting and laughing…
