Went to the premiere tonight. Everybody was laughing. You could’ve made a mildly interesting film about New York and make it a Rome metaphor, but instead Coppola pulls off one of the most confused and pretentious films I’ve ever seen.
My friend said, ‘Megalopolis: A Fable. A fable is something you learn from; I feel dumber for having watched this.’
I’m still giving this film a like, I enjoyed watching this multi-million dollar student film fail at good storytelling. One of the most memorable experiences in the cinema, for all the wrong reasons.
