I have not seen this film but I do not like to be frightened and so for this reason I must give it 1 out of a possible 5 stars. Please do not attempt to frighten me or others, it is too scary of a thing to do.

Rohmer’s completely intoxicated by his own genius, without realizing that he applied none of it to this film.
Offers nothing in the way of solutions or analysis— simply presents the fetishism that lives in the hearts of older men, which might be interesting if we didn’t all already know it was there.
Ebert thinks the interactions between characters are captivating and real. I don’t trust them on a gut level, especially since they’re springing from the same mind that wants the audience to root for the scummiest character in the film.Fuck this movie
