Phantom Thread 2017
Sumptuous, strange, silly, and serious, frequently all at once. Some true laugh out loud moments that I didn’t pick up on for my first watch. The breakfast scene is an all timer, and Reynolds reprimanding Alma, The tea is going out, the interruption is staying right here with me is unfortunately exactly what I’m like, but instead of making dresses I am writing jokes about drinking piss.

In 6th grade I asked my parents to take me to this which is so fucked up and what’s even more fucked up is they did. I must have been the youngest one in the theater by at least two decades. At one point, Mickey literally says "what the hell am I doing here?" like in the song Creep and I thought that was good because he is kind of a creep. Loved Robert Pattinson's performance here, and can see the parallels he drew to Jackass-style physical comedy, but the second half is a mess. A mess that, frankly, looks like shit.
