Deeply human, this film shows an intimate look into Aleppo before it became ruins. This film broke my heart and I’m so glad it was made by a woman, a mother. Instead of seeing soldiers fire and men talk politics, we see how this devastating conflict impacts Waad’s home, friendships, cooking meals with your family, falling in love, and more. This film powerfully shows how war affects the people who don’t ask for it.
“Places are about their people.”
