  This was good and different and funny and sad and sweet and weird. It was an absolute original experience of a movie and I think I appreciated that as much as I liked it.

  The editing, the seamless effects, the soundtrack, the costume design, the make-up, the art direction were all at the top of their game. The fight choreography was deeply creative and well-shot. The story was unique and moving. I loved how you could marvel at the absurdity…

  There's a stoic coldness to Anderson's recent films that feels like it puts distance between the audience and the characters. I definitely felt more emotionally connected to some of his earlier films, but there's also a really special artistry to the artificiality that he constructs. The sense of humour is dry, but fun. The performances are so specific in style and work so well. There was one moment in this movie that I'm still undecided on, but for the most part I really enjoyed it. The younger cast did a great job holding their own along the star-studded cast too.
