  80s repertory players, and generic stock music makes for a pretty good ride. Good vs evil, with zero nuance, and some nice revenge at the end. But what will become of Chad Bob???

  The first time I saw this was in the early 80s, on VHS, at a friend’s house. My first Italian horror film, and also the first I’d seen with such outrageous gore. This movie changed my life, in a way, because it was after seeing this that my taste shifted away from the mainstream horror of the day. A far cry from Michael Myers and Jason. 

  A perfect film? No, but Fulci was never about perfection, and that’s OK with me. It’s an experience, with some visuals that will never leave your mind’s eye. And THAT, my friends, is the mark of a masterpiece!

  Short films have to pack a lot into a brief runtime. This one wastes no time, and is quite effective. Did it happen? I guess that’s up to the viewer to decide.
