To be blunt, it's like 'Amelie'. Only it's good.
Actually that's not fair as I did like that film and its not deserving of such a snarky comment.
This is certainly born of the same genus as Jeunet's 2001 movie, but replace its quirk and kook with a gleeful lunacy only the Japanese can muster, and you get 'Kamikaze Girls'.
