The best thing I’ve seen in a while - bursting with ideas, style, and loving tenderness. The scenario is deceptively cute, with Wes Anderson-like sight gags in the set design and relentlessly bizarre behaviour on the part of everyone and everything on screen, but the last half-hour or so moves the film onto a new emotional (dare I say spiritual) plane that Anderson’s films have rarely (if ever) achieved. Manitoba movie magic!

Babygirl 2024
Wry, fierce, and totally delightful from the first sound of Kidman’s animalistic moaning to the last. Easily the juiciest role she’s gotten in years, and her performance stands with some of the best of her oeuvre. Already on my second viewing and can’t wait to watch again!
