  Denis Villeneuve is the only director that can make me care about Sci-Fi.

  All the best sci-fi movies are actually about what it means to be human and this the most direct example. The first sequence with the memory architect floored me with how well it matches my thoughts about the current state of artificial intelligence.

  I totally understand how you could watch this and decide that Villeneuve is the right choice for the DUNE movies, I didn’t think anything could match the cinematography and design of DUNE 2 but this comes close.

  Almost Fincher-like in its attention to detail in the investigation and courtroom sections. The precision with which it weaves the two threads of the plot together is incredibly impressive and the use of the two languages to emphasize the themes feels truly original.
