    War sucks, I guess. Just as I suspected.

    One of my favorite uses of the extended oner is the ending dream sequence in Long Day’s Journey Into Night, a hallucinatory half-hour. Which makes sense because at a certain point 1917 didn’t make me feel immersed so much as it made me feel sleepy. 

    Some nice moments, though. I really liked the slow reveal of the British soldiers sitting among the trees as a man sang.

    I never understand trench warfare.…

    This was very nice, but I feel like I’ve played this video game. Outer Wilds, Rime, Jusant, Sable - all about discovering landscapes with mysterious histories, all with a similar emotional language.
