I am the same age as this movie. I finally saw it at a 50th anniversary screening at the Academy Museum of Motion Picture with a Q&A with Francis Ford Coppola and Talia Shire prior to the movie. For years, my friends had been pointing out the deficit that my having not seen this was leaving in my film education. Did I like it? Meh. I can see why it is well loved, but I didn't love it. I also didn't much care for Goodfellas.

One day I will be able to bring myself to watch the documentary about Trust star Adrienne Shelly. She is so good in this movie and in The Unbelievable Truth. I've only seen Waitress once at this point - mostly because I can only focus on what we lost when she died. Her work as both an actress and a filmmaker should be celebrated - and I'm glad it lives on in the musical and in other ways. I can think of few other deaths that sadden me more than hers.
