Conclave 2024
the aesthetics of this film are competently “prestige” and “serious” which is puzzling because there is nothing particularly insightful being shared - it all culminates in a juvenile fantasy that you can have power without politics, that politics makes us worldly and corrupt. but the motifs are simple and delightful - daylight, birds, shattered glass. i enjoyed it greatly for what it was - a student org drama, gorgeous hypocrisy.

the film is boring and unfunny and…
