Blade Runner 1982
For me, the story of this movie was the worst part but, having watched the directors cut, I really appreciated the effort and attention to detail placed in the visual world building that seemed to me to be ahead of its time and likely influential in future dystopian sci-fi’s. The slower pace of the directors cut also added a lot to building emotional tension into scenes and aligning the general pacing / tone of the movie more akin to the…

The Brutalist 2024
This thing really lives up to the hype, with the 3+ hour runtime being a non-factor due to the pure immersion and sheer weight of the story. I enjoyed the acting by…

Wow this thing kinda blew me away. After some minor adjustment to the editing style and broader cinematography, the witty and purposefully pretentious dialogue and rawness of the story won me over. I really enjoyed the simplicity of both the setting and plot of the story as a great backdrop to building out complex and flawed characters that were so well written that it was almost difficult to watch at times without cringing or feeling disgusted. I think the journey…
