I mean, duh. If you haven’t seen it why? As I’ve gotten older its become more and more relatable (lol). Initially I was worried the filmmakers were taking advantage of two women in a precarious situation and poking fun at their eccentric personalities. Watching it for the second time, I was struck by how lovingly and respectfully the two men capture big and little Edie. They showcase two women who had been publicly slandered and humiliated as deeply lovable, born entertainers, and profoundly human. Who among us hasn’t thought the gardener couldn’t handle our outfit?
