i don't want anything from you.
you can be anybody, however, whenever,
i just want you to be alive.

a sorrowful film of a girl coping with an eating disorder,
where she has to deal with the struggle of going through
her illness alone. this work delicately illustrates how a
sensitive adolescent girl begins to feel the anxiety and
emptiness that comes from the suffocation of the distance
from her family and friends. you can see that she wants
    to…

i lost everything i cared for.
    it's always been like that.

innovatively shot with rough and out-of-focus images,
    dreamy nightly colors, and residual flashback footage;
intertwined with repressed identity, indelible anxiety, and
pain. this film has minimal imagery, which i kind of adore

i guess i'll just have to die.

picnic is ethereal, heavy, and strongly symbolic with a
deep meaning. albeit i wish it was longer because it left
me wanting more. it made me feel as if i was watching
a dark, beautiful poem. the cinematography is immensely
stunning. i got deeply absorbed in the dreamlike picture -
especially in the final scene, i felt overwhelmingly sad.

if you're going to be a whore, high-school is the best
time. once you're 20, they put you in jail.

kind of gives off a similar feel to hideaki anno's love &
    pop
, but it's more realistic and absorbing. considering
it's a film about a lurid subject, it was still interesting
and depressing to watch japanese girls living their life
in tokyo, being bored, and selling their services to men.
i also really adored the friendship between the three
    girls because…
