Might've just had too high expectations for this one but I was totally absorbed by it and really liked it despite how simple a tale it is.

Not sure why I never picked up on how brilliant the screenplay was for this. I think this is a feminist film. I never felt like the film was punishing these women for the ways they pushed back at misogynistic morals of the time.
