Vile cop4cop fairytale that sadly could not even be salvaged by nostalgia and amazing soundtrack - only funny scene is when Sandra Bullock falls to her knees in prayer; shout-out to miss New York & her gf Tina

Ratatouille 2007
Did a rewatch of this where we paused the film on various food scenes & ate what was onscreen. Made friends bring their favourite cheeses which we had with strawberries as a starter; then potato leek soup, small chanterelle bites with safran & of course the ratatouille, served in one person sized dishes; red, white and rose wine (last one from France ofc) to go with the different dishes.

The Double Life of Véronique 1991
Picked this one up from the library after I read a letterboxd review comparing it to Another Earth & watched it for a weekly movie night I host. It has everything I love: yearning, doppelgängers, strangeness without resolve & vibes before anything
Main character(s) responds to a cruel & chaotic, deeply meaningful universe by being sad & horny & engaging in the dream logic with complete abandonment.
At times it got so tense that it was scary; I was afraid in the way you are…

The Meg 2018
Watched this, muted, on the screen of the man three isles ahead of me on the plane & have to say it caught my attention over beetlejuice beetlejuice, barbie, blink twice & suicide squad playing on the other screens around me - got nostalgic for flipping channels on the television in the 90’s
