Asteroid City 2023
Many say Wes’ movies are mere eye candy, and nothing more. I find this to be true occasionally. However, “Astroid City” desperately cried out to be understood at a deeper level. But frankly, what the film wanted to say is beyond me. I can only understand it as characters dealing with grief and their place in the play, the world, and perhaps the universe. What specifically is to be made of their plight is not obvious. All that lingers is a simple question that everyone has asked: “What’s the point of it all?”
