Wish feels it was changed halfway through development to be more of a love letter to the last 100 years of Disney instead of being its own original narrative. As a Disney fan, I enjoyed finding all the easter eggs and nods to almost every other animated film, but as a film, this felt like someone trying to mimic a Disney film. There is enough charm in the characters and songs to entertain but it is clearly a flawed film overall.
