  Minimally framed but visually rich locked down shots, the occasional close up, and a whole lot of symbolism.
  I think the closest comparison I can draw would be to Parajanov's "Ashik Kerib" in both tone and presentation, with a splash of the wicker man, but shot on a TV movie budget.
  Worth a watch.
