  the sheer amount of romance david lynch poured into this film is astounding. the fact that this came out one month after twin peaks AND within the same year the book the film was based on was released speaks volumes to the amount of inspiration and creativity that was gushing from david at this time. i wonder if he had a muse other than his beloved reoccurring actors? who marked him the deepest?
